Miniature Wood Crafts Book
Woodcaft Book

Are you ready to make a realistic looking miniature craft wishing well? If so, just follow the steps on this sequence of pages and you'll end up with a fine wood craft wishing well like that shown in the inset of the image below.

There are quite a few steps in the construction of this balsa wood craft, but taken one at a time they are easy to complete. To make things even easier, I've coupled each step with a color image that fully illustrates what you should do.

If you want this to be a child craft project, just help with the cutting of balsa wood pieces, and the rest is easy for a child to complete.

A great matching project is the foot tall gazebo project that is described in full detail in my Miniature Gazebo Plans book. The book also includes another wishing well design and some miniature furniture designs.

So if you're ready, let's get crafting!

Supplies Needed for Wishing Well

The image shows what materials are needed to make a wood craft wishing well.

You'll need the following supplies:
  • Two 1/8" thick balsa wood panels 4" by 2 1/2" .
  • Two 1/8" thick balsa wood triangles 2 3/4" on each short side.
  • Five 1/4" thick balsa wood squares, 2 3/4" on a side.
  • Four 1/4" square posts of 2 3/4" length.
  • Two 1/4" square posts of 6" length.
  • Two 1/4" square posts of 3 3/8" length.
  • One piece of 1/4" or 3/8" square stock of 4" length.
  • One piece of 1/8" dowel cut to 4 1/4" length.
  • Some dollhouse shingles.
  • Wood glue, paint, decorations
  • As to glue, I recommend Aleene's Tacky glue. It dries quickly, and holds wood pieces together securely.
